Shiatsu
Shi means 'finger' in Japanese and atsu "press". It is the Japanese version of Chinese acupressure which in turn is based on acupuncture. But instead of piercing with needles, the acupuncture points are pressed with a finger or hand.
According to the acupuncture theory, the energy flows through meridians in our bodies and provide energy to the organs. Blockages in the meridians can cause congealed energy, so that certain organs get too much or too little energy.
According to the Chinese all diseases are caused by blockages in the energy flow.
Acupuncture and shiatsu are both intended to prevent blockages or eliminate.
There are general shiatsu treatments that activate all meridians or specific targeting to specific complaints, which only covers the points which are needed.
Ki-atsu
Ki is Japanese for the Chinese Qi that means 'energy' .
Ki-atsu is based on similar principles as the shiatsu but instead of physical pressure with the fingers or hands, the pressure is given by sending Qi or energy by the master. This is a very specialized way of working that can only be performed by experienced masters.
The benefit of this treatment is that the operation can go deeper, to a tissue or even cellular level. It is also a good alternative for people who are sensitive to physical pressure, for a painful wounds or areas.
An-mo Tuina
Tuina is the Chinese variant of shiatsu and is also about pressure point massage. The technique of activation is however the 'an-mo "and that means pushing and pulling. This latter is not physically, but energetic. It is a specific technique of the hands by which energy is alternating inserted and removed so that a kind of dynamic wave effect is created for the energy to flow better.
Qi Gong Massage
Qi Gong is a Chinese discipline that already exists of more than 5000 years BC. It is learning exciting and sending energy.
In Qi Gong massage the energy is generated by the therapist by vibration and that vibration (and therefore energy) is transferred to the patient. This energy can then be sent for general energy boost or progression or treatment for specific ailments or organs.
Aura harmonization
The aura is the energy field around our body and is inseparable from our body. Diseases that at some point manifest in the body or physical symptoms occur earlier in the energy body and aura. Aura disturbances so often are harbingers of physical problems.
Just as in the body an excess or shortage of energy can be, so that will also express in the aura. Someone with experience in working with energy fields or auras will try to harmonize the aura.
This treatment is often performed in combination with another one and is rather seen as complementary.
They distinguish a physical aura, an energetic aura and a psychological meaning that there are three levels at which it can be incorporated.
Qi Gong Healing
This works by the same principles as harmonize the aura, but here the master works directly with the energy into the body or specific organs or concealed places. Where there is excess of energy, it is reduced, where there is too little energy, there is given additionally. Elsewhere energy is harmonised.
By sending energy to certain places, the attention of the brains of the patient is also the focused to those places and by that self-healing powers of the body are activated.
